The “Karl-Marx-Alle Süd” neighborhood is located in the Mitte district and is bordered by Karl-Marx-Allee, Holzmarktstraße, Alexanderstraße and Lichtenberger Straße. The neighbourhood is characterized by several schools and daycare centres, play and sports areas and the state police administration office. To the north of the neighborhood is the Schillingstraße subway station on Karl-Marx-Allee and to the south of the neighborhood is the Jannowitzbrücke S-Bahn and U-Bahn station. The Singerstraße school zone (pedestrian zone) is also located in the neighborhood. To the east is the Friedrichshain-Kreuzberg district. This neighborhood is being examined for the need for traffic calming and its suitability as a neighborhood block.
